The Lady Cougar soccer team finished its non-conference schedule and officially began play in the MCC.

The 24th First Knox Cougar Invitational Match was a victory and a defeat for Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s men’s soccer team, as they beat Southeastern 2-0, and then lost to Judson 4-1.

Lady Cougars hope to make history

Last year the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s soccer team made history by winning their conference and making it to the NAIA National Tournament. They hope to repeat that history this year.
“Our team this year has a good mix of seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshmen,” head coach Daniel Seiffert said. “Each one of them has high expectations for this season.
“When we came to camp, I was very impressed with our overall fitness level. Our intensity throughout camp has been terrific,” Seiffert said.
