The men of the hour were Jared Tucker, Kyler Curtis and Jason Fleagle representing the freshman class; Mitch Adams, Cody Raudebaugh and Ryan Schwartzentruber representing the sophomore class; Billy Wisneski, Justin Tackett and Jacob Pessia representing the junior class; and Taylor Myatt, Nate Winters and Chad Lawver representing the senior class and fighting it out for votes to become Mr. MVNU.

In spite of the treacherous weather, the event was a full house.

Nicole Phillips, the VP of Social Life, commented, “It was a really great time and you never knew what you might see next – the guys had to put on some funny skits and songs!”

The skits and songs were created completely by the men in the show. The theme this year was Mission: Impossible.

The night’s hosts were Scott and Katie Peterson and they kicked off the night by bringing the contestants up one by one and asking some humorous questions that might have shared a little too much information than the audience wanted to know.

The freshman representatives, who, while they were not voted for by the freshmen, stepped up to the plate and delivered a funny skit full of puns when the chosen men were not able to be there.

The sophomore representatives also provided a few laughs, but admitted that they “had nothing prepared for the show.” They then moved the couch they were sitting on off the stage to the floor and watched the rest of the show from there.

The real laughs started with the junior representatives. Tackett and Pessia had to fight for the attention and affection of Wisneski, who was dressed in a beautiful blue maxi dress and had a long flowing brown wig on while lip-syncing the song “King of Anything” by Sara Bareilles.

Finally the seniors came on stage. Lawver and Winters rappelled from the ceiling and Myatt swung across stage on a rope swing.

The men then provided musical entertainment with a piano and a ukulele and…helium. They all inhaled helium throughout their performance of the alma mater and even convinced Peterson to join in as well.

The laughs kept rolling as strings broke and notes were missed, and in the end, the title of Mr. MVNU went to Myatt.

“It was really fun and we had a great batch of seniors this year,” said Megan Berk, a member of the audience. “I can’t wait to go next year!”
